本标准对应于 ISO 7578-1∶1996《水质—表面活性剂的测定一第 1 部分;亚甲蓝指数法（MBAS）测定阴离子表面活性剂》（英文版）。本标准与 ISO 7578-1∶1996 的一致性程度为非等效。
本标准代替 HG/T 2156—1991《工业循环冷却水中阴离子表面活性剂的测定 亚甲蓝分光光度法》。
本标准与 HG/T 2156—1991的主要差异为∶
——将测定的吸收波长由"652 nm"改为"650 nm"。
本标准由中国石油和化学工业协会提出。
本标准由全国化学标准化技术委员会水处理剂分会（SAC/TC63/SC5）归口。
