Abstract The photoacoustic spectrum of glucose, sucrose and honey solutions in the visible range are meas+ ured by using the single-light photoacoustic spectrometer , and are compared with the spectra from spectropho-tometry method . The spectral characteristics of the above solutions show that the spectral background intensity and spectral profile have some differences for different kinds of solutions . The spectra of the three kinds of so-lutions all have strong peak value at 485 and 655 nm , but the intensity ratios between the two peaks are differ-ent. Besides , there are characteristic peak at 475, 576 and 630 nm for glucose , and the sucrose has apparent characteristic peak at 632 nm , these characteristic peaks can be used for detecting whether the natural honey has been added glucose or sucrose . By comparing two kinds of spectrum of the same solution , the intensity o photoacoustic spectrum is more responsive to the wavelength, indicating photoacoustic spectrometry has a higher sensitivity in the test of material composition .

Photoacoustic spectroscopy is an effective way for detec-ting material composition. The PAS only measures the ab-sorption of light to the material and is weakly influenced by the measuring wavelength and particle size distribution , so it is suitable for the measurement of solid , liquid and gas . There are many superiorities of photoacoustic spectroscopy + such as wide measurement range , no need for sample preprocessing + nondestructive measurement, low sample consumption and high detection sensitivityl--) , the research on the liquid com-position by this technique is attracting more attention .
Material composition and content are common concerned problem , particularly for food, such as milk , cooking oil, honey and drinks . Honey with high edible and medical value

of honey with glucose , sucrose and IS by using fourier trans-form infrared spectrometer combining with attenuated total reflectance . Paradkar et al .lol using fourier transform raman spectroscopy studied adulterants such as cane and beet invert in honey . Cotte et al.Cul analyzed honey adulteration with syrup by nuclear magnetic resonance technology - According to the royal jelly has special physiological functions in active ingredient can judge whether royal jelly adulteration of honey by means of immunochemical detection[12) . At present, it is very few of the work on researching the honey composition by photoacoustic spectroscopy .
In this paper , the photoacoustic spectra of glucose solu-tion, sucrose solution and many kinds of honey solution are
