Abstract: The principle of Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) was introduced. A design proposal with additional functions was put forward for a multiaxial off-road vehicle. A principle prototype of the TPMS was developed with the functions of displaying the tire pressure and temperature, giving the alarms when tire overheat or lack of pressure, and reducing the tire pressure by remote control. With these new functions, a vehicle' s travelling safety was guaranteed, and its performance on soft roadbeds was improved.

汽车高速行驶时,因轮胎压力异常或温度过高发生爆胎是驾驶员最为担心和最难预防的,也是突发性交通事故发生的重要原因(1),特别是对于多轴车辆,驾驶员很难发现单个轮胎是否压力不足或超温,这给行车安全带来了极大的隐惠.而且,轮胎充气压力过高或过低都会产重影响轮胎的使用寿命,如何保持正常的轮胎气压行驶并及时发现车胎漏气和温度异常是规避爆胎风险的关键,轮胎压力和温度监控预警成为解决这一间题的重要手段,于是汽车轮胎压力监视系统(TirePressureMonitoring
