Partial revision of the national standard GB 50016-2014 Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings is hereby approved, and will be implemented from October 1, 2018. Articles 5.1.3A, 5.4.4 (1, 2, 3, 4), 5.4.4B, 5.5.8, 5.5.13, 5.5.15, 5.5.17, 6.2.2, 6.7.4A, 7.3.1, 7.3.5 (2, 3, 4), 8.2.1, 8.3.4, 8.4.1, 10.1.5, 10.3.2, 11.0.4, 11.0.7 (2, 3, 4) are mandatory. The revised original provisions for this time shall be abolished simultaneously Locally revised clauses and the specific content will be publicly available on the portal of MOHURD (www.mohurd.gov.cn),and published on the Standardizationof Engineering Constructionpublications.

The partial revision work of this Code is based on the Notice of the MOHURD on Printing and Distributing the 2018Work Plan of Preparing Engineering Construction Code and Standards and Related Work (Building Standard Letter [2017] No. 306), it is jointly completed by Tianjin Fire Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security and relevant units. In the partial revision work, the basic fire protection technical requirements for the construction of elderly care facilities are revised and improved, in accordance with the relevant standard preparation provisions of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the relevant national fire protection regulations, and the main contents include: 1. The scope of care facilities for the elderly is clarified. 2. The allowable building height or number of floors for older care facilities and the separation requirements for combined construction. 3. The arrangement requirements for the living room and public activity room for the elderly are clarified. 4. The arrangement requirements for safe evacuation and fire protection facilities in the care facilities for the elderly are appropriately strengthened. There are a total of 27 partial revisions, namely 5.1.1, 5.1.3A, 5.1.8, 5.3.1A, 5.4.4, 5.4.4A, 5.4.4B 5.5.8, 5.5.13, 5.5. 13A, 5.5.14, 5.5.15, 5.5.17, 5.5.24A, 6.2.2, 6.7.4A, 7.3.1, 7.3.5, 8.2.1, 8.2.4, 8.3.4, 8.4.1 10.1.5, 10.2.7, 10.3.2, 11.0.4, 11.0.7. And there are 7 new ones.
